I live in New Zealand, and most of our language comes from Britain, though a rapidly increasing proportion is picked up from the United States, because of the influence of movies, television and the Internet.
Mostly, if I use a slang term it would be understood in Australia and Britain, and maybe further afield. Some things are universal of course, but some are not.
Another things that's fairly universal, no matter the race, creed, gender, location, age or sexual orientation, is masturbation. We all do it, have done it, or will do it. There must be a vanishingly small percentage of the world population that are unable, or unwilling to partake at some stage of their lives.
My stories are posted to the Internet on the premise that at least some people are going to have some private fun, during or after reading them. I get a lot of feedback to the same effect, but there are some big differences in the way people say these things.

For instance, the most common term for male masturbation in NZ would be 'wank'. That's a verb, but we also have wankers. Wankers are generally people who aren't very nice. Jerks, prats, or even gits. but sticking with the main theme here, if you do the naughty thing, by yourself, with or without the aid of some words or pictures or toys, what do you call it?

The other thing is, how many of these terms are not gender specific? Wanking, here, is primarily a male sport, but the term can refer to self-indulgent girls, as well. What about where you are?
I have a list. Want to add to it? I know there are some obscure terms, but what do you mostly refer to? For instance, you could mention 'auditioning the finger puppets', and that's both cool and funny, but it's hardly likely to be the term you'd use normally.

First off, yes, I did a Google search for some of these, but only to refresh my memory. I only listed terms that I've heard more than once. Promise.
Hmmm, male masturbation terms... I would include beating off, choking the chicken, and spanking the monkey. George Carlin is a good source here. Trust me, I've seen him live. :)
I can't think of any other terms for female masturbation other than diddle and frig.
As for mutual masturbation, I have nothing. We really need some new terms here. Anyone care to create a few?
And I've often heard classic man<>woman sex referred to as doing the wild thing or just fornicating, though I tend to prefer bonk myself.

For a female, apart from frigging and diddling, the coded faves at school were 'Beating around the bush', Beating the Beaver, and 'Letting your fingers do the walking' (from a Yellow Pages ad campaign)
I cant recall any term for mutual stuff, it tended to be things like 'playing with' or 'feeling' or 'fingering' each other (if words were ever necessary).
The boys used to talk about 5 finger shuffle.
